1876 acquired our great-great grandfather, John Kurath (1833-1916), what was thent the Kurhaus including 4 hectares of land for CHF 4,000. In order to meet the rising demand, he built with the help of his nine child in 1903 the hotel.
1913 burned the building down completely. John Kurath built in 1914, the hotel once again.
In his footsteps, our great-grandfather Paul Kurath sen. took over. (1876-1941). As host of the Tannenboden follewed his son, Paul Jr. Kurath. (1911-1984). He was an avid hunter and skier.
Our father, Hannes Kurath (1940-1988), added the Slalom Bar in 1971 and the Haus Steinbock in 1978. 2003 took my sister Romana, along with her husband Christoph Dörig over.
Since 2010 I lead, Hannes Kurath jun., the nowdays largest hotel on Flumserberg in the 5th generation.
Hannes Kurath jun., Born in 1979, has completed an apprenticeship as a cook in a Gault Millau restaurant. After training, he worked in various hotels, to gain experience. In 2001 he started at the Flumserberg a Ski Instructor training. In 2005 he returned to the family business and took over in 2007, the function as a chef. In 2010 he took over the management and has since been supported by his partner Nicole Gubser. Hannes is a happy father of two girls.
